How Does IQHoney Work?
IQHoney's four ingredients work through cellular maintenance (Spermidine), gut-brain axis theory (two fibers), and blood sugar response (L-Arabinose).
Only Spermidine carries meaningfully direct cognitive-adjacent research; the rest rely on more indirect, theoretical mechanisms.
Three indirect pathways, one ingredient with direct research
IQHoney's four ingredients work through several routes, only one of which has been studied with any directness for cognition.
Cellular maintenance: spermidine
Spermidine is studied in the longevity space for supporting a natural cellular process called autophagy, theorized to have relevance to healthy aging broadly, including brain cells. This is the most developed research among IQHoney's four ingredients — see our full piece on what the research actually shows.
Gut-brain axis: baobab fiber and konjac glucomannan
Both are well-documented prebiotic fibers supporting gut bacteria that produce short-chain fatty acids. The gut-brain axis is a genuine area of scientific interest, theorizing that gut health influences brain function — but this remains a theoretical bridge rather than a directly demonstrated cognitive effect for these specific fibers. See our full piece on the gut-brain axis, explained honestly.
Blood sugar response: l-arabinose
L-Arabinose is studied mainly for moderating the blood sugar spike after eating starchy foods. Any cognitive relevance would be indirect, through steadier energy availability rather than a direct neural mechanism.
What to realistically expect
Given the indirect nature of three of the four mechanisms, a reasonable expectation is gradual, general wellness support rather than a dramatic cognitive transformation. The finished formula has not undergone its own clinical trial. See the ingredient list and what it supports.
